The one beauty step I never leave the house without doing is my eyebrows. All my life I've had super thick and bushy brows (thanks dad). My Sophomore year of High School I randomly ran into an eyebrow shop on 23rd and 7th Ave to get them threaded. The artist made them a bit too thin for my liking and I vowed to never let anyone touch my brows again. Since then I've mastered doing my brows and I get endless compliments and questions about how I do them. Finally, I am sharing my brow secrets and what I do to get my signature eyebrows!

Step 1: Groom Your Eyebrows

Whether you do your own brows or get them done professionally, it is very important to shape your eyebrows to fit your face. I have a heart-shaped face so I do not love a dramatic arch. Luckily for me, I did not have to change the natural shape of my brows. The only thing that I do is clean them up with a small eyebrow razor when they grow out. My brows grow very quickly so I do this every other week. When your brows are groomed and shaped to your liking, filling them in is 10x easier.

Step 2: Start With a Simple Line

It's easy! Simply draw a line under your brows following its natural shape. You can extend the tail if you'd like but don't draw it longer than the outer corner of your eye.

TIP!: To get natural-looking brows don't draw a line above the brows. When you do this, the brows can look boxy and you want your brows to look naturally shaped.

Step 3: Feather It Out

Using your favorite eyebrow pencil, create short, hair-like strokes on your brows. I usually start in the front and gradually work my way toward the tail. You want to be gentle with the pencil because the heavier you are with the product the darker your brows will look. The darker your brows are, the more drawn on they look. The goal is to mimic real brow hairs.

Step 4: Brow Powder

Use an eyebrow powder with an angled brush and gently run it through your brows. This fills in any spots you might've missed with the pencil.

TIP!: Make use of your spoolie throughout the process! Brushing out your brows with each step makes them look more natural and less heavy.

Step 5: Gel & Hold

Now for the star of the show! Use the Benefit 24-Hr brow setter and run it through your brows. Use the brush and slowly push the hairs in the direction that you want them to lay. I push mine in the opposite direction in which they grow, this makes the brows look thicker and fuller.

Step 6: Clean It Up

Optional Use your foundation and an angled brush to clean up under the brows.

And that's it! Your brows should be laid and locked in all summer. No chemical lamination necessary.
